My name is Alexey Lungu, or simply Alex.

I was born on 18 March 1969, in Moldova. I grew up in a working class family. My interest in art started when I was 5 years old, drawing on any white or light-coloured surface, anything I was surrounded by. When I was 11, my parents realised that I would have absolutely no academic future, so they sent me to art school for a four-year course. I had a great teacher, who showed me how to express my emotions on canvas. Thanks to my parents, who respected my choice, after graduating from the art academy I went to the Plemedeale's Art Teacher's College in Kishinev for four more years. After that I worked for a few years as a teacher in an art school. In 1999 I moved to Italy. Here I painted landscapes of the Cilento National Park, Salerno and Amalfi seascapes. After discovering Lake Garda and Venice, I was drawn to painting this beautiful area. I often painted portraits and sometimes characters from my own imagination. Thanks to my friends and colleagues, I managed to organise more than 60 personal exhibitions in Italy. Now I live in the south of Italy where it is always warm and green. The unique atmosphere of this place gives me inspiration for new works of art. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the admirers of my humble art.
